Messianic Hope Children's Home, Weekly Updates

10th July 2025: Ministry Updates Across Our Orphanages and Outreaches…

We begin with heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of our faithful partners. Your unwavering support continues to bring hope, light, and lasting change to the lives of orphans and widows across the various orphanages we serve in Africa. Together, we are making a tangible difference, and we thank God for you every step of the way.

We are especially excited to share some wonderful news from Messianic Hope OVC in Gilgil. The installation of the solar power system is now fully complete! After the earlier setup of the solar panels, we have now finished all the wiring and battery connections. The system is officially up and running — providing clean, reliable energy independent of the often-unreliable Kenya Power grid. This marks a major milestone for us, as it will significantly reduce our daily operating costs and ensure consistent energy for the children and staff. This success would not have been possible without your generosity. The children at Messianic Hope send their heartfelt thanks. We are deeply grateful.

Looking ahead, we are launching a new project at Messianic Hope OVC. We plan to rebuild the wood-burning stove in the kitchen, which is currently producing an unhealthy amount of smoke. Inspired by the cleaner and more efficient alternative stove we built at Agape OVC in Uganda, we hope to replicate that success here. To begin this work, we need to raise $1,220 for materials, including steel and welding gas — which we ran out of while constructing the steel battery table.

In addition to upgrading the kitchen, we are planning to incorporate vocational welding training for the children. This initiative will empower them with practical skills while improving their environment — a win on all fronts. We kindly ask for your support to help us launch this important project.

Over at Gathaithi OVC, we are focusing on another vital upgrade: the installation of a dedicated solar system for the bathroom boilers in both the girls’ and boys’ dormitories. Currently, the existing power system is overloaded due to the high energy demands of the boilers, leading to frequent disruptions. By establishing an independent solar power source for the water heating system, we aim to ensure a more stable and efficient energy supply.

To make this vision a reality, we are fundraising a total of $6,200, which breaks down as follows:

  1. $2,100 for seven 600-watt solar panels
  2. $400 for panel tracks and accessories
  3. $2,400 for four large 400-amp batteries (two per dormitory)
  4. $900 for the inverter
  5. $400 for wiring and essential accessories, including surge protectors and breakers

This project is a critical step toward our broader goal: to make each orphanage as self-sufficient as possible. Reducing dependency on grid power will greatly lower operating expenses and improve the children’s daily living conditions. Your support is key to making this happen.

Lastly, we extend an open invitation to new partners. The ongoing daily needs of the orphanages and outreaches still require consistent financial support. We currently operate at a minimum of $1,400 each week to cover essentials such as toiletries and food not grown on-site. If more friends can commit to even $20 a week, it would significantly lighten the load and sustain this life-changing work.

Thank you once again for being part of this journey. Every prayer, donation, and message of encouragement matters more than words can express. Please consider becoming a steady partner today. Together, we are creating futures filled with dignity, opportunity, and hope.

Baruch Hashem
