Ministry Update: School Fee Support and Urgent Infrastructure Needs…
Hello Friends and Partners in Ministry…
We want to begin by expressing our deep gratitude for your continued prayers, encouragement, and generosity. Because of your faithful support, we’ve been able to make significant strides in the care and education of the children under our ministry, both at Agape OVC and Gathaithi OVC. Your partnership means the world to us—and to the children whose lives are being changed daily.
We’re thankful to report that we have partially paid school fees for both of these centers. This has enabled many of our children to remain in class as we work to settle the remaining balances. However, we are not quite there yet. As the Second School Term approaches, we are still facing arrears that must be cleared in order to keep all our children in school without disruption.
To cover the outstanding school fees for primary and high school students, as well as the ongoing needs in our wider Outreach programs, we are currently in need of $2,100. These funds are critical to ensure that each child has access to the education they deserve—without the stress or interruption of unpaid balances.
Your support in this area can help lift a significant burden and allow us to move forward with confidence into the new school term. Every contribution makes a tangible difference.
Gathaithi OVC: Electrical Upgrade and Kitchen Needs
In addition to the school-related needs, we’ve been hard at work on some much-needed infrastructure improvements at Gathaithi OVC. We are happy to share a small victory: we have successfully installed LED lighting in two of our storage rooms that had never been wired before. Thanks to recent upgrades, both rooms are now fully lit and functional—something that has already improved daily operations in more ways than we can count.
However, there is still an urgent need in the kitchen area, where we’ve long depended on an old set of solar panels for electricity. Unfortunately, those panels—already underpowered when they were first installed—have now completely failed and are no longer charging our batteries. This has left the kitchen without reliable power, a serious concern as we strive to prepare daily meals for all the children in our care.
To resolve this issue, we need to install a new solar panel system that can handle the kitchen’s daily electrical demands. The plan is to set up seven 300-watt panels, totaling 2,100 watts of solar input. This upgrade will allow our batteries to charge fully and provide dependable energy for cooking, refrigeration, and other essential needs.
The total cost for this solar installation and the related upgrades is $1,945, and we are actively fundraising to meet this goal as quickly as possible. This project is not just a convenience—it’s a necessity for the health, nutrition, and well-being of the children we serve.
