16th June 2025 – Ministry Update: Progress of the Solar Installation at Messianic Hope in Gilgil & Current Needs

We’re excited to share a wonderful update from our ongoing efforts at Messianic Hope OVC in Gilgil. Over the past week, we have made significant progress on the installation of the Solar Power system—a long-awaited step toward ensuring consistent and sustainable energy for the children and ministry activities on the ground.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we were able to purchase eight solar panels, the first four solar batteries, panel track and a few accessories. Much of the physical installation work has already been completed. The system is beginning to take shape, and it’s clear just how transformative this will be for our day-to-day operations. The children, staff, and the entire community are truly grateful.

However, we are not quite at the finish line yet. To ensure a steady and reliable power supply, we still need to purchase four more solar batteries, which will complete the storage system. The cost of these additional batteries is $2,200, and we are praying and believing for the funds to come in by mid-week so we can complete the full installation on schedule.

In addition, we are facing a shortfall of $380, which is needed to cover extra wiring and the balance of other essential electrical supplies. These components are critical to safely connect and run the full solar power system. Without them, the work done so far would be incomplete, and the system would not be fully operational.

Another important need is the wiring and lighting for the washroom block, which has never been connected to electricity. This area is used frequently, especially in the evenings, and having proper lighting is essential for the safety and security of the children. For this, we are seeking to raise $400. It may seem like a small detail, but this improvement will have a big impact on the daily life and comfort of the children in our care.

Beyond Messianic Hope OVC in Gilgil, our Village Outreach project also requires final support to complete its own solar setup. We need $1,200 to purchase two more batteries, which will fully power the outreach center and ensure uninterrupted ministry in that location. Once these are in place, we will be done and dusted with the solar project there, and it will mark another major step forward in sustainable ministry infrastructure.

As always, we are so thankful for your prayers, your giving, and your unwavering encouragement. These updates are a reflection of what we are all doing together—each gift, large or small, is part of a much bigger picture of hope, healing, and transformation.

At this time, we are also in urgent need of more dedicated partners who can come alongside us with weekly support for basic needs. These regular gifts—no matter the size—help us meet daily essentials like food, hygiene items, school supplies, and basic healthcare. The need is ongoing, and the impact of consistent support cannot be overstated.

Please prayerfully consider how you can join us—whether through a one-time gift for any particular project or by becoming a regular supporter for our weekly needs. Every bit counts, and together, we’re making a lasting difference in the lives of these precious children and the communities we serve.

Baruch Hashem.
