Good morning from here in Kenya and from my family to yours we hope this time of Shavuot / Pentecost has been one of not just celebration, but also a reminder of our calling and fulfillment of our commission here on earth.
It is a very concerning to me as I watch people here on social media be so wrapped up in world politics and events…. yes, we are called to pray for the Peace of Israel…. but this was not the main commandment coming from our Messiah.
These things that are happening in the world are here to put fear into Unbelievers and wake them up to the One who is calling them.
All of the issues that we go through here on social media as Believers are definitely attacks from the adversary.
It is our commission and our mandate to make disciples of all Nations tribes in tongues. AND THIS SHOULD BE OUR FOCUS.
These signs especially when we read in Matthew chapter 24, were given to us only to wake us up to the urgency of limited time left, and that we have a job to do!
The 14th verse of Matthew 24 such a clear mandate…….
” And the good news about the kingdom will be announced throughout the whole world as a witness to all the nations. It is then the end will come.”
We have an important job to do that we are commanded to perform as Believers that are Spirit-filled….. you may have the Holy Spirit …. but are you filled with the Holy Spirit Ruach HaQuodesh?
The most important thing right now is what are you filling your mind with?
So today I am going to once again remind you of an age-old teaching many have heard over and over again but hopefully this time you get it?
Baruch Hashem
RENEWING OF OUR MINDS
” Focus your minds on the things above NOT on things here on Earth.”
Colossians 3:2 CJB
I could probably just leave this teaching right here with the words in this scripture above.
If our Messianic diet consists of listening to a sermon once a week and the occasional prayer…… even if we spend all day Saturday Sabbath in the congregations…. but do nothing else for the rest of the week, just focus on everything around us in this world…. we will be utterly bored and frustrated and, in some cases, maybe even start having fear in many areas of our life.
Messiah will not be the one we are looking to for direction, because we simply will not know enough.
Our mind will be mostly set on pragmatic issues of maintaining a household, earning a living, paying the bills, and that too can be frustrating.
Rav Saul/ Paul writes, ” In other words, DO NOT LET YOURSELVES BE CONFORMED TO THE STANDARDS OF ‘ OLAM HAZEH (THIS WORLD).
Instead, keep letting yourselves be transformed by the renewing of Your Minds, so that you will know what God wants and will agree what He wants is good, satisfying and able to succeed.” Romans 12:2 CJB
Right there it is repeated do not let yourself be conformed to the standards of this world…. stop looking at the situation around us and start looking at the situation solver!!!
With so much made fast and easy today, the temptation is to opt for the quick fix and simply Coast along on the good we feel from attending a church or congregation, but we cannot bypass the renewing of our minds.
An interesting correlation today is churches being shut down…… remember nothing happens in this world unless Adonai allows it!!!
Could this be a tool to get our attention to what we have not been doing??
Our minds are the initial Avenue through which the Gospel message is processed.
We understand that, ” I am a sinner, but I am forgiven, cleansed and saved because Messiah died for me. Because of my True repentance, I have Risen to new life with Him; I am indwelt by His Spirit and now live in total dependence on Him. “
This has to go through our thinking before it settles into our hearts!
1 Kefa/ Peter 3:15 says, ” but treat the Messiah as Holy, as Lord in your hearts; while remaining always ready to give a reason answer to anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have in you…. yet with humility and fear,” CJB.
The hope we have is Yeshua Hamashiach in us, but in addition to knowing this is true, we need to understand why it is true.
As we explain it to others, the Gospel seed becomes implanted in their minds and reinforced in our own.
We are all called to spread the good news of the Kingdom.
The congregational leader’s job is to train the congregation to become seed planters…… Not just a potted plant sitting there!
Talking about the things of G-d is vitally important…. because the more we do so…… the more the Holy Spirit Ruach HaQuodesh reveals.
We can only set our minds on the things above when we know what the things above are. Rav Saul/ Paul says, ” let the Word of the Messiah, in all its richness, live in you, as you teach and counsel each other in all wisdom, ……” Colossians 3:16.
So we are all called to teach and counsel!!!
Not wasting time focusing on the things of this world!!!
The things above are what Hashem has revealed in His Word, and to know His Word is to know the mind and heart of Hashem.
If our minds are set on earthly things, we will be limited to our own ingenuity and resources!!!
We will work apart from Hashem, which is a frightening thought for any true believer.
Be transformed by the renewing of our minds…. setting our thoughts daily on the things of Hashem, they will then take root in our hearts where change takes place and our lives begin to make sense with meaning and purpose.
Baruch Hashem
Our Prayer Heavenly Father….
Help me to digest the truth of your word in my mind so that it settles into my heart, giving me a deeper understanding and revelation of You.
Thank You Adonai Amein
