THE LESSON FROM SH’MOT / EXODUS

Here we are again celebrating our passage of death into everlasting life…

And the sacrifice on the Cross at Calvary

For when we have our final Exodus from this wicked world and Passover into everlasting life… and communion with our Creator… it will be everlasting peace happiness.

These last days have been a real challenge to say the least…But we are here to testify how faithful our God is Baruch Hashem Adonai.

This is the great gift that we receive when we celebrate these biblical feasts of God…It brings us closer and to a greater appreciation of what has been done for us.

Today I want to share a message that I wrote back in 2020 during Hanukkah…still relevant today.

December 13th 2020

There is one thing we can all agree on…

When we look at everything around us, there is definitely a problem.

But the problem that I see, the biggest problem that I see, is the lack of faith and understanding in those who believe they are true followers of Messiah.

The great lesson that we learn through Hanukkah is repeated all through scripture…Hashem doesn’t take us from the battle…he takes us to the battle!

This Great Tribulation is the last of all trials that Believers will face.

It is the adversaries last kick at the can.

But at the first sign of persecution which in North America is so slight compared to the rest of the world…people are already buckling under the pressure.

This being the fourth day of Hanukkah I think this teaching is what the Ecclesia needs.

THE LESSON FROM SH’MOT / EXODUS

“And to whom was it that he swore that they would not enter his rest? Those who were disobedient. So, we see that they were unable to enter Because of lack of trust (faith). “

Some translations say unbelief…Satan definitely believes but obviously had no faith or trust…we need not only to believe but we need to fully trust.

This is what was lacking in the desert.

The story of Exodus is the most repeated story in all of scripture.

The writer of the Hebrews Recaps it briefly to remind the people not to fall into the same trap as their ancestors did. With the exception of Yahoshua and Kalev / Joshua and Caleb, the first generation of Israelites were miraculously released from Egyptian bondage, marched into freedom, but never made it into the promised land because of their unbelief but most of all lack of trust!

Are we falling into the same trap today…where we trust Adonai has brought us out of our sin, which basically the coming out of Egypt represents…but we do not trust Him to bring us into the Promised Land, passing through the great Giants we see in front of us today as we enter into tribulation times…forgetting the promised land is symbolic of the fullness of Messiah?! When I see the element of fear and confusion….I can definitely see we are still living our own way, showing more faith in ourselves than we have in Hashem YHVH!!!

The sad thing about the Israelites was that with every difficulty and obstacle, they rebelled, complained and stopped listening to Adonai!

Their hearts became hardened, and a hardened heart becomes a wayward, untrusting and unbelieving heart that can reach the point of becoming deafened to G-d.

The message in Hebrews is full of warnings.

Do not Harden your heart;

Do not fall away;

Do not be guilty of unbelief or trust;

Do not carry on sinning and do not miss the provision of Adonai!

Whether you are Christian or Messianic this life is lived in utter dependence and Trust in Adonai our G-d, which the Israelites fell away from again and again. Instead of entering the full sufficiency and rest of Hashem YHVH, they wandered the desert for 40 years. Hebrews 3 verses 10 and 11 records Hashem’s judgment: ” that is why I was angry with that generation; I said, their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways. So, I declared on oath in My Anger, they shall never enter my rest.” Tragically, there’s was a dead-end journey that died in the wilderness!

Out of the multitude that left Egypt only two entered the Promised Land!

Does this not remind you of what we are told regarding the Millennium reign? For narrow is the road to Salvation narrow is the gate to salvation but very few are going to be on it?

Hashem’s purpose in bringing His people out of Egypt was not to get the slave masters off their backs! Great as that was…the main intention was to get them back to Canaan where He would restore them to the purpose for which He had set Avraham apart centuries before. In the land of milk and honey, they would have everything they need made available to them, and become a blessing to the World by the coming of the Messiah through their descendants.

Coming out of Egypt was a means to an end…just as coming out of our sin is a means to an end! The end is not salvation! As great as that is…the real lesson from Exodus is coming into the fullness of Messiah…who is L-rd of the Sabbath he is our Sabbath rest…and this is where we rest in His sufficiency…and by the work of His Spirit, become a blessing to others, no matter how dark it gets around us!

This today is the greatest of all tests which we will face before entering into His eternal rest…I pray that you will stay on the path and not wander.

Our Prayer

Heavenly Father

Thank You for bringing me out of my sin, help me to rest in your sufficiency and make me a blessing to others. This is the blessing of the Sabbath Covenant that you have made with us and given us as we rest in You. We give all praise, Honour and Glory. In the mighty name of Yeshua Hamashiach Amein.

Chag sameach Pesach
