Uganda Updates

24th March 24, 2025 – Urgent Update: Agape OVC (Uganda) Fence Damage and Immediate Needs

We are writing to share an important update regarding the recent heavy rains in Uganda and the significant impact they have had on our orphanage. As you may know, the rainy season in Uganda can be unpredictable, and this year, the storms have been particularly intense. Unfortunately, the strength of the rainfall and winds has caused the fence around our orphanage to collapse.

The collapse of the fence has posed a serious safety concern for the children and staff. As you can imagine, the security and well-being of the children in our care is our top priority, and the broken fence makes it difficult to ensure a safe environment for them. To address this urgent issue, we are asking for your support to help us rebuild the fence.

We estimate that we will need $1,200 to purchase materials and hire labor to rebuild and reinforce the fence. Our goal is to ensure that the new fence will be stronger and more durable, with better reinforcement to withstand the heavy rains and storms that are common during this season. This project is critical to maintaining the safety of the children, and we are hoping to raise these funds as soon as possible.

In addition to the fence repair, we are also facing a need for agricultural support. With the rainy season in full swing, it is the perfect time for planting, but we still require funding to purchase seeds for the upcoming crops. We recently had a delivery of manure, which will be essential in enriching the soil, but there is still much work to be done to get our farm ready for planting. If you are able to support us with a donation towards seeds, it would greatly help us ensure that we can provide nourishing food for the children for months to come.

Our mission continues to face challenges in securing consistent funding to cover the costs of running the orphanage, including food, healthcare, and the ongoing maintenance of the property. One of the ways we hope to stabilize our finances is by encouraging more partners to come alongside us. If we can secure even 50 partners, each contributing $20 per week, it would go a long way in ensuring that the orphanage continues to run smoothly, even during difficult times. These contributions would provide a reliable source of income for the daily needs of the children and the ongoing projects that keep our mission running.

We understand that not everyone can commit to weekly donations, but any support—whether it be a one-time gift or a recurring donation—would make a huge difference. We are so grateful for your continued support, and we are hopeful that, with your help, we can recover from these setbacks and continue to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children in our care.

Thank you for taking the time to read this update, and please take a moment to watch the attached videos, which offer a glimpse of the current situation at the orphanage. Your prayers, your donations, and your partnership mean the world to us. Baruch Hashem.
