Messianic Hope Children's Home

30th October 2024 Update: Our current goal – $250 for the Second Phase of the Garden Boxes, $350 for the Chicken Coup…

Hello everyone, here is a brief update on the progress of Messianic Hope in Gilgil. First is to send out our immense gratitude to all our partners who have been with us through thick and thin. We can never be more grateful. We have been able to accomplish pretty much during these last days and this could never be possible without your support.

We are so happy to let you know that we completed the first phase of the Garden Boxes project, did all the plumbing for the Irrigation and installed the sprinklers. We have already started off with the planting and every undertaking on this is promising. As it is on our original aspiration, we are intentional on making these Orphanages and Outreaches as self sufficient as possible. We have attached a few videos of the Garden Boxes complete with the irrigation system. It’s looking really good…Thank you again to all partners who made this project a success.

We are now looking at doing the second phase of the Garden Boxes, as we still have enough space to do so, we have also figured that they can always sell the surplus and earn something, especially with the vegetables. This will consequently cut down on the weekly expenses on basic needs. Having said that, we are fundraising to get $2500 to do the second phase of the Garden Boxes…This amount is inclusive of buying materials, labour costs and all the other logistical costs that will be incurred on undertaking this. We will also eventually do the Irrigation system on the same as we have done on this first phase. We are kindly asking you to help us do this. To channel your support, kindly find the numerous DONATE buttons on the different segments of the Website. We channel all the funds to the projects we have initially indicated, for extra if any, we carry forward to the oncoming projects. You can always let us know on the areas you are willing to commit.

The other project we are looking at getting done is the Chicken Coup, just like we did at Gathaithi OVC (Kenya) and Agape OVC (Uganda). We are hoping to do a replica of the same or probably bigger for we have enough space to do so. On this, we need $3500 to accomplish. This amount is inclusive of materials, labour and logistical costs. This structure will be a modern one, complete with feeders, drinkers and a powered hatchery. We already have everything on paper, once we get the funding, we will roll everything out. Kindly be part of this, help us bring this dream to life.

Last but not the least is our call to have more partners on the Weekly Basic Needs. It’s an area we have continually struggled with, getting the supply for the daily running of these Orphanages. We run on a tight budget of $140 weekly…If we can get more partners to lift the burden off our shoulders, we will be more than grateful.

Thank you and God Bless.
