Missions Update: Chicken Coop Project at Messianic Hope OVC, Gilgil

We are excited to share an important update on the Chicken Coop Project at Messianic Hope Orphanage in Gilgil! Thanks to the generous support of our partners, we’ve made tremendous progress in constructing a chicken coop that will help the orphanage become more self-sufficient, a replica of what we have at Gathaithi OVC (Kenya) and Agape OVC (Uganda).

As of today, we have successfully completed all the framing for the structure and the roofing, ensuring the coop is sturdy and ready for the next stages. Additionally, we’ve poured a cement floor, providing a clean and durable foundation for the chickens. With these crucial milestones behind us, we are now moving forward with the next steps: building the sidewalls and constructing cages that will house up to 300 chickens.

The addition of these sidewalls and cages is essential for creating a safe and secure environment for the chickens, which will contribute to the orphanage’s ongoing sustainability efforts. We are also planning to finish the roofing and install a door to complete the structure. Once finished, this chicken coop will not only provide a steady source of eggs and poultry but also reduce the orphanage’s reliance on outside sources for food, aligning with our goal of increasing self-sufficiency.

To ensure the completion of this vital project, we are now seeking an additional $2,500 from our partners. This funding will cover the remaining costs to build the sidewalls, cages, roofing, and the door. We are grateful for the continued support of our donors and partners, whose generosity has made this progress possible.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all who have contributed so far. Your support is not only making a tangible difference in the lives of the children at Messianic Hope OVC, but it is also empowering them to be part of a community that thrives on independence and resourcefulness. Together, we are helping to build a brighter future for these children.

Thank you for being part of this mission, and we look forward to sharing more updates as we continue to move forward with this transformative project!
