We are excited to share a milestone moment in the life of our ministry—one that reflects both the faithfulness of God and the compassion of our community. Our Village Outreach is embarking on one of our most impactful and ambitious projects yet: the construction of a two-level Women and Widows Shelter. This center will serve as a safe haven, a place of healing, and a foundation for empowerment for the women and widows in our community.
This shelter is a dream we have carried in our hearts for many years. We have prayed, planned, and prepared, believing that at the right time, God would provide the resources and partnerships needed to make this vision a reality. Today, we are thrilled to announce that the time has come—and with your continued support, we are ready to step forward in faith.
But this shelter will be more than just a building. It will be a beacon of hope for women who have nowhere else to turn. Many of the women and widows in our region face challenges that extend far beyond financial hardship. They carry emotional wounds, health struggles, and the weight of rebuilding their lives after loss. Our goal is to provide them not only with a roof over their heads but also with the tools, skills, and care they need to begin anew.
The planned facility will include a Medical Centre/Dispensary, Sewing Shops, and various income-generating activities designed to equip women with practical skills for self-sufficiency. Through these initiatives, we hope to restore dignity, independence, and purpose—creating a place where healing is paired with opportunity, and where hope is renewed through action.
We envision a strong and functional two-level structure. The ground floor, estimated to cost $70,000, will house the Medical Centre, which will serve both the residents of the shelter and the surrounding community. Access to immediate and affordable care will bring relief not only to the women living on-site but also to countless families who currently lack dependable medical services. The second level, estimated at $50,000, will offer secure and comfortable housing facilities along with rooms for training and small-scale businesses such as sewing and tailoring. Both levels will include essential amenities—piped-in water, basic utilities, and the infrastructure needed to ensure the facility is fully operational upon completion.
We are deeply grateful to share that we have already received a $30,000 commitment toward this project. From this amount, $4,000 has been used for architectural plans, zoning requirements, and county permits—crucial steps that have moved the project from vision to actionable reality. After these expenses, we currently have a remaining balance of $40,000 needed to complete the ground level. In addition, we still require $50,000 for the construction of the second level.
With these funds raised, we will be able to begin work as early as next week. We are close—so close—to breaking ground and bringing this life-changing center into existence. And this is where we humbly ask you to stand with us.
