18th May 2023 Update: OUR URGENT NEEDS…

Good evening everyone, a brief update on our progress here at Gathaithi OVC in Kenya.

We have been up and down these last few days doing some projects that needed our urgent attention. Happy to let you know that we have accomplished quite much and looking up to wrap up even more. Thanks to you all, to all our partners who often see the need and go over and above to see that we are indeed changing lives, May the Good Lord Bless You.

We have now finished redoing the Lights at the Boys Dormitory which was on a sorrier state, and will now be doing the Girls Dormitory…On this we will need a total of $1100…This amount will include the redoing of the three girls’ dormitories plus the washrooms.

Also, we need an additional Solar Panel, 600 watts…this was recommended by our Technician, it is so because of the Hybrid Solar Inverter we’re now having which is more powerful but also more efficient…we will need these additional panels so as to increase the Capacity and hence have no problem in charging the hybrid inverter. We will also need tracking for the Panels now that we having quite a number. On all these, we need $900.

Our other need for now is to do the Plumbing work in the Washrooms, the situation currently is so bad they are using buckets to flush off the toilets. This is a health hazard; the City Council Inspectorate have been here and have recommended some quick action to rectify this. We will be needing $800 to do this…inclusive of new cisterns, flush plates and valves, flushing tanks plumbing supplies and the Labour which has to the City Council standard…

So currently our urgent needs currently is –

$1100 to redo the Lighting for the Girls’ Dormitory…

$900 for the extra solar panels and the Tracking…

$800 for the Plumbing works in the Washrooms…
