VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE…we are setting up a Vocational Training Centre at Gathaithi OVC…

Good evening everyone, greetings and immense gratitude from Gathaithi OVC here in Kenya.

We just finished putting up the Drywall Ceiling here at Gathaithi OVC – everything is now looking so good, we could never ask for more, the sanding and the painting is also done and perfectly looking as you can all see from the different videos attached below, the electrical work is also done and dusted.

Onto our next project – VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE…

As we had highlighted in our previous updates, we are looking to set up a Vocational Training Centre, here at Gathaithi OVC – The first ever in the region – East Africa, at least one that will provide Free Vocational Training from the Lower Secondary School Level and of course one set up in an Orphanage.

We are looking to start off with Electrical, Welding Masonry, Plumbing and Carpentry Training. We will probably expand this and offer even more courses in the future.

We have already bought some tools to kickstart this project. Our overall projected budget is $4500. This is inclusive of the budgeted amount to set up a Classroom to conduct the Training, get more Electrical, Welding Masonry, Plumbing and Carpentry Tools and any logistics that will be incurred in setting this up.

We are kindly calling upon all our partners, help us do this. As it’s in our original aspiration, we are looking to make these Orphanages as self sufficient as possible. Offering these Vocational Skills will not only achieve this but make these children productive and pro-active in future. It’s the least we can do.

As for Uganda –

We are making good progress here…We thank God and all our partners who in every way make the running here easy for us.  We just have recurring problems with getting the weekly basic needs, especially now that we are having hiked food prices here in Uganda. It’s nearing the electioneering period here and things are a bit hard here.

We are humbly calling for more partners to help us in getting the basic needs every week.

Some basic staples have tripled.  We need to cater for every week’s budget that will include a regular supply of proteins…and for the protein diet we have been getting them beef, we had to get them chicken this time for a change, you can see those happy faces on the attached videos below. We can never be more grateful. If we can get more partners to help with the regular protein supply, everything will look up for good.

So, for now, kindly help us in raising the extra funds needed for weekly basic needs…

Another urgent call from Agape OVC is to get them a Freezer, this has been pending for quite sometimes now. We also need to get some gardening tools, and a truckload of manure to help in increasing their gardening yields and consequently cut down their basic needs, foodwise.

On this, we are looking to raise 1900 USD, this will include the purchase of the Freezer, some few storage appliances, a truckload of manure, some gardening tools and the logistics that will be incurred on getting these.  We are kindly calling for every partner to help us do this.
