It’s interesting, but at the same time troubling to watch some of the ridiculous argument debates here on social media between so-called Believers.

Many years ago, I decided it was time to get a higher education in subjects like Biblical history, archaeology and languages, so worked towards my university master’s degree in these subjects.
Coming from a Jewish family, being raised Jehovah Witness on one side, Orthodox Judaism on the other side, the doctrinal arguments were endless in our household.
And coming from either side of the argument there was definitely no fruit in any of it!!!

This was the reason for my quest for knowledge of the truth.
But it’s interesting because just the same as King Solomon asked for wisdom, the answer to his request took him down a rabbit trail that eventually led to emptiness and despair.

Today I am humbled as I have come out of my prayer time that my Heavenly Father would choose for me to teach on this subject today.

PROBLEM OF THE EDUCATED

” It was at that time Yeshua said, ” I thank You, Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, that you concealed all these things from the sophisticated and educated and revealed them to Ordinary folks.”
Mattiyahu/ Mathew 11:25 CJB

Knowledge of Elohim is never attained…… it is received!!
If our resistance to Adonai is not primarily intellectual but volitional, it is also true that our knowledge of Adonai is volitional rather than intellectual.

The frustration of the ” wise and learned” is in their assumption that they might know G-d through their wisdom and learning.
And we are speaking of the academic atheistic scientific community….as well this definitely applies to those theologians and even the Orthodox Jewish community that put their rabbis’ knowledge and wisdom above that which is in the Written Word.
But I am really seeing this among ex-christian Hebrew roots Torah teachers…. and also, these Messianic rabbis who have come from Orthodox Judaism some of them still denying the deity of Messiah.

In our modern age, it seems common that the great influences of our knowledge of G-d and godliness rarely emanate from universities or theological schools.
Rav Saul wrote, ” Knowledge puffs up while love builds up” 1 Corinthians 8:1 NLT. His own testimony was that the ” surprisingly great revelations” given him by Hashem held the potential to lead him astray, so Hashem allowed him to weaken in order to keep him dependent…. 2nd Corinthians 12 verse 7 to 10.
If this was a potential trap in revelation from Hashem, how much more is it the potential of academic investigation of G-d!!!

This is not to downplay the validity of academic investigation into spiritual things. This is the reason I go into Biblical history, archaeology and languages so as to validate that which is true, and that which is not, and what is proven especially through archaeological evidence.
There is great study and defence of scripture being done in some areas of Higher Education, …… BUT…. we must keep that discipline in perspective!!
In the first place, we definitely do not know Hashem through investigation.
We know Him in the first place by revelation.
Revelation does not depend on intellectual capacity but on the disposition of our heart!!
It pleases G-d to reveal things ” to little children ” and to those like them.
This revelation is at the Son’s discretion, for ” …. no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him” Mattiyahu/ Mathew 11:27 NLT.

Does this suggest that Adonai arbitrary chooses who He reveals Himself to? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!
The ones to whom the Son reveals the Father is found in the next verse, ” Come to Me, all you who are weak and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My Yoke upon you and learn from Me”. Mattiyahu/Mathew 11:28-29 NLT.
He reveals Himself to those weary of carrying their own burdens, who are overwhelmed by their lack of resources, who have come to the end of themselves and trying to rely on their own strength and wisdom, who come in humility and place their burden on His shoulder and learn to rest.
TO THEM, YESHUA SAYS, ” LEARN OF ME !!”

Whenever Hashem tested people in scripture, they were never tests of their intellectual grasp of Truth!!
He never handed out number 2 pencils and theological exams! Lol
Hashem’s tests were of people’s disposition towards Him and the measure to which they looked to Him for their sufficiency.
And this same method is being laid before us right now. As we are entering into this great tribulation, the great testing, testing through adverse trial……. your intellectual knowledge is not going to help you!!

Before our minds will ever be thrilled with Yeshua Hamashiach Adonai, the disposition of our hearts must be one of insufficiency in ourselves, and this is what leads consequently to full submission to Him!!

Our Prayer Heavenly Father
Thank you that your Son has chosen to reveal Yourself to children, to weary, to those who come to You for rest.
This is the true revelation of the Sabbath, every 7 days we need to come and lay our burdens at your feet….
Reminding ourselves that it is You guiding us and directing us in every step we take. Continue to bring me to this place.
Thank You Adonai Amein
